Although most people associate braces with orthodontics, we provide other services related to the temporary and permanent treatment of teeth. Retainers Retainers are custom devices that fit inside the patient’s mouth following orthodontic treatment. Retainers help keep teeth in their preferred, post-treatment position. Retainers may be worn during the day, at night, for a specific period of time following treatment, or indefinitely, depending upon the patient’s needs and the doctor’s recommendations. Retainers are often discreet, but we offer a number of options for post-treatment support. Surgical Orthodontic Treatments In some very rare cases, surgery may be required to correct abnormalities in the jaw or face, or severe facial injuries. Jaw abnormalities may impact breathing, chewing, eating, speech and outward appearance. Surgery may be the only corrective option. In these situations, we work closely with an oral surgeon or a craniofacial surgeon to develop comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative treatment to achieve the best possible results. Custom mouth guards Protecting your teeth is always a good idea. For our athletic patients, a custom mouth guard will ensure the highest level of protection during sports.
