When you think of orthodontics, you think of a teen in braces. The truth is that a growing number of people are opting for adult orthodontic treatment. According to a recent survey, “Economics of Orthodontics”, conducted by the American Association of Orthodontists – over a two year period the number of adult patients (those over 18 years of age) initiating new orthodontic treatment increased by 16%. In addition, about 1.5 million adults in the US are currently receiving care from an orthodontist. That’s nearly 30% of all patients currently in braces!
